Benard is the founding Chairman of The Powerhouse for Sustainable Development CBO. He has a Bachelor of Education (Arts) Honors from Kenyatta University and a Master of Arts Degree in Psychology from the United States International University (USIU – Africa), Nairobi. Professionally, he has a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resources Management from the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM Kenya) and a certification in Executive Coaching for Managers from Strathmore Business School.

He is a Certified Trainer of Trainers (TOT) and a Certified Safety, Health & Environment Professional. Besides, he has a certification in Corporate Governance from the Institute of Corporate Governance of Kenya. Benard is a Balanced Scorecard Professional (BSP) and has a certificate in arbitration from the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb).

Benard is a licensed and experienced HR Practitioner. He has worked in both multinational and local companies as well as the public sector in various executive leadership capacity. He has a strong passion for community development work and mentoring of upcoming professionals in various fields. He is currently the Chairman of the College of Human Resource Management of Kenya Alumni Association (CHRMAA), the Convener of Career & Life Skills Speakers Forum and the Chairman of Board of Management for a local secondary school.

Benard is a full member both the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) and Kenya Institute of Management (KIM).
